This Month on All Access: Miracle Meditation

In the USA, medicine is big business. Almost everything the government endorses is based on either hospitals or pharmaceuticals. According to them, your options for natural healing are basically just diet, exercise, and meditation. A lot of people don’t know about that last one, but it’s true. Meditation is almost the only form of natural healing endorsed by the United States government, because it’s been proven to work many times. One example was given by Dr. Herbert Benson MD, from Harvard University, who conducted double-blind studies on a very simple meditation and found that the health benefits are enormous. As one of my greatest mentors once told me, double-blind studies are a way of telling whether something works when we don’t have the instruments to determine how it works.
I’ve been meditating regularly for years and always found it helpful, but I’ve seen a distinct problem with them as well. Most meditations work by distraction, by having you focus your attention on a word or image or spot on the wall. While you’re focused on that, you’re not focused on all the things that stress you out from day to day, which is great for your pulse-rate and blood pressure, and gives your immune system a nice boost. That’s the payoff of meditation; that’s the magic. However, it doesn’t actually deal with any problems, it only gives you a little break from them. As a result, I know many people who spend hours meditating every day, and even after all that time, their health begins to backslide immediately if they miss even one day. What’s worse, some types of meditating, called “guided imagery,” are a lot like affirmations, imagining or focusing on something that isn’t really true. This is a problem because the latest research on affirmations is that most of the time, they do more harm than good. Even at their best, they have a dubious success rate.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to just get by, coping with my problems but never really overcoming them. That’s why I developed my own take on meditation based on ancient scripture. Ask yourself this: what is the alternative to meditation which merely distracts from a problem? At its root, Miracle Meditation is a practice of focus and mindfulness. It doesn’t work by distracting you from your problems, but by realigning you to approach them in a different way, in peace and love rather than fear and anxiety, and to be focused on the present moment rather than the past or future.
The Miracle Meditation is based on ancient scriptures, and in a sense, has existed for thousands of years. I believe it is hands-down the most powerful meditation on the planet, because it does much more than just distract you from your problems. It plugs you directly in to a miraculous source of spiritual energy.
